The third part of the raters exam is the toughest. Do you want to clear the third part in one go? Well, you’ve got your work cut out for you. The third part comprises 7 live tasks that involve both Page Quality rating and Needs Met tasks, all performed on your mobile phone.
- Each of the 7 tasks involves the rating of 8-10 pages. This makes up almost 60-70 pages to rate. It takes a lot of brainstorming and becomes a tedious job. Therefore, the right advice will be to not finish it in one go. You should spare at least two days for this part of the exam, as it requires your special consideration and attentiveness.
- Take rests between the test to boost your energy. You must complete the task and then click on “Submit and Stop rating.” If you leave a task incomplete, it will expire in an hour and you cannot access it again. Make sure you do not release any tasks, or you will fail the test.
- The first step towards approaching any question is to understand the query and user intent. Think deeply as to what the user wants to know and what should the relevant webpage contain. Now, analyze the webpages and see which webpage fits the query. If you cannot understand the query, extra research on your end will only be beneficial to determine the relevant results.
- This section will involve both PQ rating as well as Needs Met tasks, but it is important that you do not divert all your attention to PQ rating and concentrate more on Needs Met tasks.
- Here, you will rate webpages for the usefulness of a mobile user on the scale that varies from “Fully Met” to “Fails to Meet”. Make sure you do not get overwhelmed by the landing pages and give each of them a “Fully Met” rating, as we rarely use this rating (only in special cases.) The SCRB (special content result block) pages that provide authentic and relevant information are given a Fully Met rating.
- For every question that you find tricky, you should refer back to the guidelines and look for similar examples. You must work down to the wire for this section.
- With technology advancing so fast, the number of mobile users has been increasing with each passing day. Google ensures that these users have a good experience on their mobile phones. Therefore, when performing this task, we should consider the overall mobile phone user experience.
- Check multiple factors such as keywords, the newness of content, location, reliability of web pages, linking, establishment history, reputation.
You must consider the location of the user especially for location-based queries like “bookstore near me”. Many search results can prove to be irrelevant if they are not close to the user. For determining this, you should check out the location of the user by using the inbuilt map. - Pay attention to the expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness of search results, especially for YMYL pages. Often, we make quick judgments for E-A-T but they need special consideration especially in case of those pages that are related to health, finance, or legal matters.
- Check out different forums where you can interact with other raters. Their experience and help can increase your chances of getting qualified.
